makes you wonder, doesn't it--why are so many people getting cancer? and why don't we ever talk about preventing it, and not just curing it? not that i'm paranoid, of course, but still...

when I was younger I remember reading stuff about how in the future there would be more cancers due to pollution and global warming and such like. Normally those kind of predictions you think wont come true. It seems that they have. No idea if mine is related to pollution - more likely because I didn't have babies at 15 like they did in olden times.

lavonne

well, i have an axe to grind because of all the chemicals we are exposed to in our daily lives, not just pollution. but i realize that it's pointless to talk about prevention after the fact. so i apologize if this is a painful topic. and i was only kidding when i said i wasn't paranoid. :oP

Actually, the Gerson method which is an alternative therapy for cancer support advocates only organic food and no household chemicals. It also advocates hourly coffee enemas but that's another story. I've also read other cancer therapy books which say reduce your toxic load to give your body a chance to fight the cancer not the toxins you expose your body to everyday.

oh good -- i didn't want to bring it up because i'm sure it's very annoying to have everyone telling you about this or that therapy. have you thought about trying it? i've actually thought about doing the nutritional component for prevention, but i'm too undisciplined. i don't use household chemicals or fragranced body products any more because they give me horrible migraines.

I have thought about it but it is very strict and seems to be associated with not taking conventional treatment. Which for me would not make sense at this stage.

well, only you know what's best for you. i've often wondered what i would do. i keep thinking i wouldn't do chemo, but if it came down to it--who knows? i'm wishing you the best... and without being sappy about it, praying for you. hope you don't mind. :o]

I have a friend who had such a bad reaction to chemotherapy. So she's chosen not to take it. I think it's a brave thing. My tumour was doubling in size once every three weeks back in June which without surgery would have made it about 12 inches across by now. So I would be in a lot worse state had I not takent the treatment.
